Le Roi Daniels School Music Program
In the elementary music program, students will have opportunities to develop an awareness, appreciation and enjoyment of music. They will be encouraged to develop into performers, critical listeners, consumers, historians and composers. They will gain insights into music by participating in meaningful musical activities.
The target skills to be developed are singing, playing instruments, listening, moving, reading (and writing), and creating music. The five concepts of the music program are rhythm, melody, harmony, form, and expression. To maintain high student engagement, the program will include music and instruments that appeal to the students. Student suggestions for songs or ideas for projects are welcomed. |
